For those who would like to experience the benefits of yoga without practicing on the mat, why not try Chair Yoga?
In this class we explore mainly seated postures and movement to stretch and strengthen the body and work with the breath to expand and lengthen breathing and calm the mind. We work with some standing and balance postures to develop strength and stability through the legs and feet, with chairs or a wall available at all times so that anyone who struggles with balance will always have something to hold on to for support.
This class is ideal for those who have balance challenges or who would like the experience of working with breath and movement but still have the option to remain seated.
Chair Yoga Classes take place on Thursdays at 12.15 – 1;15pm at Gosforth Parish of St Nicholas Church Hall on Station Road in Gosforth.
